How To Change Your PHP Version (Foundation)

Which PHP version should I use?

The PHP coding language is constantly being developed and updated. With each new version released, some PHP functions and capabilities may be removed while others are introduced. Each new version of PHP intends to increase the security and capacities of what the language can do.


Note: Setting changes may take up to 2 hours to take effect.
 

How do I change the version of PHP for my account?

  1. Log in to Foundation and go to the Hosting Tab.

  2. In the left sidebar, click on IIS Administration Console.

  3. Under IIS Administrator Console, click on the PHP Version drop-down.

  4. Select the appropriate version number.

  5. Click the Update button to save your changes.

  6. A popup message will alert you to success.

Important: If you update your PHP version for WordPress, ensure that your theme and plugins support the new version; otherwise, your site will make errors and may stop working altogether. It would be best if you always kept your plugins and themes updated. If you have an issue, you may need to revert to the prior version of PHP or reach our customer support for any assistance.
